Arden was a willing and able partner. She was confident in her own judgement,
almost too intuitive at times, and one of the smartest dogs I've ever
known. She had good prey drive with excellent self-control, showed strong
herding talent, and was a toy-loving natural retriever. Her inherent exuberance
gave her a special spark in the show ring. She was an "Ever-Ready",
instantly eager to jump into training activities, but calm and settled
in the home - my ideal companion. Arden completed two legs on her CD, and had some beginning training in herding
and agility. Unfortunately, Arden nearly died from a liver infection in 2005, after ingesting something dead or tainted when we moved to our acreage in Montana. After that, many of our plans had to take a back seat to regaining her health and strength. She was an awesome dog with a huge heart and strong will. We miss her much, and daily.
